History of Soccer

History of soccer is very interesting. Soccer is the fastest growing and most popular sport in the world. It is called football in some other countries. Soccer is played throughout the six major continents in the world. This sport is extremely popular in Europe, Africa, Asia, Australia, and South America. If you're looking to catch a game while you're in China, Australia, Egypt, South Korea, South Africa, France, Italy, England, Ireland, Germany, or anywhere else in the world, your best chance would be a soccer game.

History of Soccer began in the mid-19th century in England. This sport was intended and played by the more aristocratic classes of England. These games would be played at both boarding schools and private clubs which cost a pretty penny to get into. The standard rules of today's soccer were born from the rules that were born in 1863 from the London Football Association. It was known as football, and not soccer. In history of soccer, since 1952, Hungary has won the most gold medals in the Olympics, in soccer.

Soccer is sport of to kick the ball. You are not allowed to touch the ball for make a Goal. You may only use your feet if it is on the ground. And if the ball is in the air, you may use your feet or your head.

In modern games, a game is split into two halves of forty-five minutes each. Each game lasts up to ninety minutes unless both sides are tied. However, the game does not automatically end when the second half is done with. There is something called the watch stoppage time. That lasts for about two or three minutes. Players will have an extra two minutes to get another goal in before the watch is stopped.

In history of soccer, the color card penalty system we see in today's soccer was not introduced under the 1970 FIFA World Cup. Cards are rewarded as punishment by the referee due to misconduct of the players. This works as a three strikes rule in a game. They can be rewarded at any given tie in a game. The first yellow card is a warning of caution. Second yellow card is your second warning. The red card is your third strike. Getting a red card means you are ejected out from the game.
